And the year 2012 has passed..
What should I say - I'm not really satisfied with my improvement this year, because I can't really see it LOL. I can only say that my art became more detailed this year, I noticed how to pay attention to small things and the backgrounds.
January: Got my first DD ever, I was really happy ♥ This was the first very detailed piece that came from me.
February: Not a very productive month, I drew only one big piece ;-;
March: I got quite interested in painting because of too much pixiv XD
April: I felt that working with my tablet became worse and I felt it was limiting me, so I opened real commissions to buy a new one! I'm satisfied with that month, I improved my colouring, I guess?
May: Very busy month, continued trying to paint lol XD Lots of commissions and doodles!
June: Played piano a lot before my last piano exam, so I didn't draw too much. One big piece for my piano teacher ;w;;;;; ♥
July-August: wasted two months, I was away all the time. Only doodles and sketches adsdsdsfdsfdafdfsf.
September: Participated two contests, so I drew two pieces I'm really satisfied with!
October-November: School made me so busy that I couldn't draw too much, that was so sad;--------;
December: I was still busy, but I was in a Xmas mood so I preferred to draw lolololol. I finally got a new tablet!
Next year I would like to improve more, draw more boys, be more active on dA. Thank you for your support ;w;; ♥

Seriously though, I think your backgrounds are improving a lot by becoming more complex and accurate. Don't limit yourself to just one style and one motif - you will improve your skills by drawing different things in different styles. Can't wait to see it all! Good luck ^_^
