you don't have to read from here...This piece is very important one. Why? I probably won't continue music school. First of all, I don't want to be a musician, especially pianist. It's not like I don't like it. I really love to play the piano, you know... But I learned a lot last 9 years, it's pretty enough to play anything alone at home. Yeah, I'm just going to play it for myself, not for passing piano exams. I'll have more time to practice drawing. I also want to learn Japanese. > u < ...so I drew this piece for my piano teacher, to give it to her after my last exam and thank for all those 9 years. ; v ; *sob*
edit - 11.06.12 Oh my gosh, it's all over now eeeh... I cried so much when I gave this to her, she really liked the drawing, wished me all the best and said she won't forget me and... *cries* Okay, sorry for that personal mumbling....to here ' v ' I decided to draw this piece giving my full and best and request Critiques. I think that thanks to them, I'll be able to see more mistakes -I'm counting on you! ; u ;
Thanks, Hope you like it! Done in SAI, texture from pixiv~
The thing that gets me most about this image is that you don't even have to read your artists comments to feel it has some important meaning. When I saw this in my inbox, even as a thumbnail I could feel quite an intense vibe from it.
I like the story within the picture, the feeling of bliss whilst the girl plays alone and how the roses have fully bloomed indicating you've reached your goal. The girls delicate features, contrasting hair and the piano are amazing.
A suggestion or two I'd have to make a few things flow better would be:
Try warping the roses more so that they aren't all facing front on. This will help cover up the fact that some are the same and hopefully give more depth to the scene. Even if they were glued to the wall, the wouldn't all hang the same.
The other thing I noticed was the squares in the background. I love their texture, but the perspective is kind of lost a bit as the squares on the floor don't come towards the viewer.
Those were about the only things I could find to suggest. I also thought maybe there should be more reflection under the piano, since there is under the dress, But all in all, I think this is a beautiful piece that goes well with the title you've given it and I like the intense emotion that it provokes.
I really love the cool colors. The arrangement of the character, piano, and roses is well done. I'm curious to if the character is seated, if the skirt of the dress isn't hooped than it should be scrunched between her and the seat, but I really like it anyway because it looks natural. The coloring technique is simple and it suits the picture. The anatomy of the character is decent and the placement of the watermark almost seems like it is part of the picture. I feel like there are a few too many flowers and bubbles floating around though.
